However you got here, thanks for stopping by! I love to try new recipes, usually ones I find online. Some are such a hit that they make into my rotation, and some fall completely flat. I wanted to create this blog as a place to record my successes and failures, while at the same time giving other people, whose lives are probably just as crazed as mine, an idea of which recipes are worth their time- and which definitely are not.

A disclaimer: I’m a total amateur. I’m not a chef, a cook, or even a foodie. I know absolutely nothing about cooking. I just know that I have to figure out a way to cook meals that are at least a little tasty, not disgustingly unhealthy, and that don’t break the grocery budget. I also know that I don’t want to eat the same five meals every week, and I enjoy the hunt for new recipes.

However, I have very specific requirements for recipes. I’m a teacher and my sainted boyfriend works for a non-profit, so that means we have a super strict budget and basically no spare time. We live in apartment with a closet-sized kitchen that has almost no storage (I kid you not- I have four cabinets and two drawers). If a recipe requires me to go to specialty grocery stores, hunt down expensive ingredients I wouldn’t otherwise buy, or have newfangled kitchen gadgetry, it is probably not going to happen. Actually, even one of the above would inspire me to keep on scrolling.

What you’ll find here are recipes that appeared manageable and affordable when I came across them, as well as my opinions about whether or not they were worthwhile. I hope you find this helpful, or at least entertaining, and I would LOVE to hear from you, especially if you took the time to read my long-winded introduction. Happy cooking!
