Paige Ingram

Paige Ingram an MA Candidate (Dual-Language Track [Intensive study of Arabic and Persian.] ) in the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and a Teaching Assistant for the History Department at the University of Texas at Austin. She is currently interested in religious and political identity and stereotyping of Muslims in the Americas and Iberian Peninsula; political autonomy of Blacks in Islamic Middle East (Eunuchs in Ottoman Empire); Islam in Europe and America; Interpretations of early Islamic historical figures in contemporary media.

Paige has virtually no life outside of her studies and only likes to sleep and watch TV shows without an actual TV. Her other hobbies include keeping it real and everything Lupe Fiasco does.

After graduation, Paige plans to continuing studying Arabic and work for a major organization aimed at improving the lives of women in the MENA of any variety (i.e. UN Women, UNDP, USAID, etc.). Ultimately, though, Paige will return to school to obtain a PhD in a related field.
