Cape Cod, Ma
I am a junior at Umass Amhert, and I am a year round resident on Cape Cod. With that I have a different outlook of what Cape Cod really is. For the summer vacationers Cape Cod is an a place of fun, relaxation, beach parties, really anything you want it to be. What happens on Cape stays on Cape. But for me, summer isnt't all fun and games, it is alot of work. I was an intern at Oyster Harbors Country Club this summer, where I worked a total of 659 hours. Now that might seen terrible to some but not for me. I have a passion for people.
Being a native, I already appreciate Cape Cod as basically the best place on earth, so it is my job to make all of the "visitors" appreciate it as well, giving them an experience unlike anywhere else they may have traveled. This is necessary because the Cape depends on those tourists to keep coming back each summer.
Through my upbringing I have learned to appreciate hard work and the value of relationships with people, and realize that when it comes to the business world those two things come hand in hand.
I have been involved in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry without even realizing it until I decided I wanted to make it my career. Creating memories and a home away from home for people I have never met before, is what I enjoy doing.
Everyone wants to be someone, everyone wants to be successful, everyone wants to be successful in something they love doing. I have a passion for people, so why not try to make a life out of it.
Educating myself on effectively fulfilling that objective, trying to gain as much experience as I can throughout the entire industry, and eager to see what the future may bring.
