Kayleen

My name is Kayleen. I am 21 years old and work two jobs on top of going to school full time. I have six dogs and love every single one of them unconditionally. My two standard poodles are my babies and I treat them like they are my kids. I am a transfer student from Allegany College of Maryland. As I entered my second year at AC, I was unsure if I really wanted to remain in the Education program. My advisor had a nice, long talk with me and sent me out on an observation before I made my final decision. The observation I did completely changed my mind. I knew at that point, that I needed to stay in the Education program because the teacher I observed made such a huge impact on her students. I graduated from AC in May 2013 with an Associates Degree in Elementary Education and an Associates Degree in the Art of Teaching. When I first got to Frostburg, I was very intimidated because I did not know anyone in any of my classes. After my first semester, I came out of my shell and began to meet new people in this major. During these past few weeks, I began to think about my future. I thought that I wanted to get my Master's Degree in Special Education. That is what I had my heart set on when I graduated high school. Recently, I realized that I did not know if that was the path I wanted to take. After doing some research and talking to a few teachers that I knew, I began to think about getting my Master's in Administration. I believe that anything is possible if you put your mind to it!
