Pakistan Medico International Social Welfare Association (PMISWA)
Serving Humanity Since 1979
Pakistan Medico International Social Welfare Association (PMISWA) is a non-profit, non-political humanitarian organization established in 1979 and registered under DSW (S) 274-1979. Founded by Dr. Muhammad Shafi Boikhan, PMISWA has dedicated more than four decades to improving the lives of vulnerable and underserved communities across Pakistan through healthcare, education, social welfare, disability support, rehabilitation, emergency relief, and community development programs.
Since its inception, PMISWA has remained committed to the principles of compassion, dignity, equality, and service to humanity. The organization works without discrimination and strives to provide assistance to individuals and families regardless of their religion, ethnicity, gender, or social background. Through the support of donors, volunteers, healthcare professionals, educators, and community leaders, PMISWA has been able to positively impact thousands of lives.
Our mission is to serve humanity by providing accessible healthcare, quality education, humanitarian assistance, and community development initiatives that empower individuals and strengthen communities. We believe that every person deserves access to essential services, opportunities for growth, and the chance to live a healthy and dignified life.
Over the years, PMISWA has implemented a wide range of programs and services designed to address the needs of disadvantaged populations. These include healthcare and medical assistance, educational support, disability rehabilitation services, food security initiatives, women and youth empowerment programs, community development projects, emergency response activities, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) awareness campaigns.
Healthcare remains one of PMISWA's core focus areas. The organization has supported medical services, health awareness initiatives, medical camps, patient assistance programs, and community health outreach activities aimed at improving access to healthcare for low-income families. PMISWA has also played a role in humanitarian responses during emergencies and disasters, providing relief and support to affected communities.
Education is another key pillar of PMISWA's work. The organization believes that education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and creating opportunities for future generations. Through its educational initiatives and institutions, PMISWA continues to support learning opportunities for children and young people from underserved communities.
PMISWA's commitment to humanitarian service has earned recognition and support from respected national and international personalities. A notable moment in the organization's history was the visit and support of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, whose recognition of PMISWA's humanitarian efforts highlighted the organization's dedication to serving vulnerable communities and advancing social welfare initiatives.
Today, PMISWA continues its mission under the leadership of Mr. Muhammad Iqbal Khan, President, who remains dedicated to strengthening the organization's impact and expanding its programs to reach more people in need. Under his leadership, PMISWA continues to build partnerships, mobilize resources, and develop sustainable solutions that address community challenges.
