Palak Aggarwal, was inspired to visit Kalahandi, infamous for poverty in eastern India, during her masters degree at TERI School of Advanced Studies. Her stay in Kalahandi with Kandha tribe and San tribe in Kalahari desert inspired her to co-found BattiGhar in early 2016, which works on intersection of sustainable technology, business and finance as key to combat poverty.

Prior to BattiGhar, she has channelized her energy in developing rural energy access ecosystem and has seven years of extensive experience in research, community mobilisation and project implementation.

She has been featured in Youth Solutions Report published by United Nations in early 2017 and was part of UNLEASH Innovation Lab, Young Connectors of the Future Program. As a Social Entrepreneur she represented India on International Visitors Exchange Program sponsored by U.S. Embassy.

Her journey has been featured in many National media platforms like Logical Indian and International platforms like CNNI Road to Rio and SPAN magzine. She is currently WIPRO Sustianablity Fellow and Clean Energy Fellow.

Recently, she incorporated a for-profit entity, with purpose to transit technologies from lab into livelihoods for last mile entrepreneurs.

This blog is her personal journey of transit between a development practitioner to being-a-social-entrepreneur...and encountering all rejections and weaving them to narrate a story!
