I was born in India, later my parents immigrated to Canada and I was raised here. I attended Etobicoke Collegiate Institute located beside Islington Subway, and am now a student at University of Toronto Mississauga. I am working towards achieving a specialist degree in Digital Enterprise Management.

My interests include: sales, marketing and business management. I have been working at Belissima boutique for the past two years. I am an assistant manager. I developed interpersonal skills that have enhanced my interaction and communication with people. I have a detailed understanding of the steps involved in starting a business and maintaining it. I have trained several employees and worked at multiple locations for the company.

Over the years I have made some self-discovery, I love independency and flexibility in my work. I would love to start my own business one day. Entrepreneurship is one of my main goals, because I feel that working under an authoratative authority –boss, restricts creativity. I am looking forward to working under people that are successful, I want to learn and absorb as much as I possibly can. I am learning a lot about social media in my studies. I now understand the importance of social media promotions via websites like facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, wikispaces, and the like. I have learned various strategies to target various segment demographics with advertising. These skills will hail me a competitive advantage when I launch my own business.

Accounting for the financial investment involved in starting your own business, I plan on working in various different sectors to gain experience, save money and to foster diverse skills. My short-term plans include travelling to different countries working with people from different diversities. After graduation I plan on travelling to China to gain work experience with my friend’s family business. In the long-term, I would like to open a unisex Salon. In such a business, the investment is not a lot, but the return on the investment is significant, since the fixed costs are minimal. My mother currently is a stylist and she will definitely be the backbone that manages the service aspect of this business. I plan on focusing on the accounting, and management involved in my business.
