Marco Paleari

Software Engineer and Project Manager in Turin, Italy

I hold a Ph.D. in signal processing from Telecom ParisTech and two master degrees from Politecnico di Torino in telecommunication engineering and from Université de Nice-Sophia Antipolis in multimedia technologies.

My multidisciplinary background includes but it is not limited to: artificial intelligence, machine learning and data mining, affective computing, 3D avatar animation, computer vision, biometrics, physiological signal acquisition and processing, electronics, robotics, and space robotics.

As a result of my career history I acquired several competences in basic people and project management which are helped by my good aptitude for foreing languages (I fluently speak Italian, English, and French, and I have scholastic knowledge of Spanish, Portoguese, and Japanese), business and my curiosity towards new people.

My current employment is whithin the Italian Institute of Technology Center for Space Human Robotics where I have the chance of working closely with the European Space Agency and some of the biggest private realities in the domain of space exploration (Thales Alenia Space, Astrium, Aviospace, DLR, ...).

My current responsibilities regard the acquisition and processing of bio-signals and the development of new human-machine-interfaces. I am also currently tutoring a Ph.D. student and following the development of several Italian research projects for a total of several million euro.

I am very competitive while still very fair to rules and I love challenges. As a matter of fact I practice many team sports such as sailing, soccer, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee but I am also passionate about nature and individual sport activities such as sky or scuba diving.

Also passionate about politics, in 2011 I was asked at the last moment to run for the local election and I obtained a good result on my district.
