Palmer Fliss
Bioinformaticist, Molecular & Computational Biologist, Biochemist, Astronomer, Sky-looker, and Wind-listener.
Life on this planet is the only example that we have of a group of molecules that are aware of themselves. Understanding life and its interaction and dependence on its environment is my passion, specifically the biochemical and geochemical origin (or origins) of life. Additionally, I love scientific outreach and enjoy creating eureka moments or moments of wonder in people.
My background is in Radio Astronomy/Astrophysics (Macalester College - BA), Geomicrobiology (University of Minnesota - MS), and Molecular Biology/Biochemistry (NASA Ames).
I seek out people with curious minds who aren't afraid of asking questions. Worry of appearing unintelligent is one of the biggest obstacles to truly deep understanding between people.
