Daniel Palmier and the Palmier Foundation raised funds to help the Lieutenant Walsh - Firefighter Kennedy Memorial Fund, One Fund Boston, and Friends of Wellesley METCO, Inc during the 2014 Boston Marathon. Currently, they are only half way to their fundraising goal of $26,200, which UC Funds will gladly match. Please contribute any amount that you can. Every dollar counts. UC Funds’ commitment to match donations up to a total of $50,000 has been extended through May 15, 2014. Your support is very much appreciated. Donations to support these charities and through the Palmier Foundation can be made online at http://www.crowdrise.com/palmierfoundation2014/fundraiser/danielpalmier. Checks are also accepted. They can be made payable to The Palmier Foundation and mailed to The Palmier Foundation, c/o UC Funds, 745 Boylston Street, Suite 502, Boston, MA 02116. The Palmier Foundation will continue its support of One Fund Boston in memory of the victims of 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing. The One Fund Boston continues to focus on the significant on-going needs of the victims of the attacks. Dan Palmier, CEO of UC Funds, commented, “Our hearts are still heavy for the victims and their families from last year’s senseless tragedy.” Boston-based Daniel Palmier and The Palmier Foundation also proudly supports Boston’s Firefighters in mourning the loss of Lieutenant Ed Walsh and Firefighter Mike Kennedy, in a 9-alarm fire on March 26. Daniel M. Palmier’s father was a New York City Fire Officer for 34 years, and was also part of a company that lost many on 9/11. Dan’s fundraising helps build a small “nest egg” for the future needs of the families of these heroes who gave their lives for the community. Daniel Palmier also understands the serious nature of cardiac arrest. As a result, Dan Palmier is also currently mobilizing substantial aid to communities in Haiti with a particular emphasis on their hospital’s cardiac arrest services. The Palmier Foundation also supports Friends of Wellesley, Inc. Funds raised go towards subsidizing a wide range of programs including summer enrichment, tutoring, scholarships for worthy students, as well as transportation coordination. Regarding his support of METCO, Dan Palmier noted that “The METCO Program affords better education opportunities to urban children and provides a more culturally diverse learning environment for suburban schools. Giving is not a choice, it’s an obligation."
