Paloma Jimenez

Welcome to my page, where you can learn a little bit about me - and enjoy the background photo! In case you are now wondering where this picture was taken, the answer is Oahu, certainly a MUST on everyone's bucket list!

I am originally from the Dominican Republic but moved to Toronto eight years ago to attend York University where I earned my Honours Bachelor of Arts degree. I did a double major in Communication Studies and French Studies, and then decided to further my education in advertising. I went to Centennial College and completed the Advertising and Marketing program.

I streamed in Account Services, which is ideal for a multitasker like me. I am organized, a good mediator and a great communicator. I like to think of myself as a versatile team player as I work well independently but also enjoy working in group settings. I like leading as well as helping others. Being completely fluent in three languages (English, French and Spanish) has definitely been an asset.

After finishing my studies, I worked as an Account Coordinator for Young & Rubicam Toronto in the Ford Retail team. It was a great experience and I learned a lot working in such a busy account and thankfully with such a great team. I could not have asked for a better opportunity or better mentors.

Later that year, I took a contract position at BT/A Creates to work as a Coordinator in the Scotiabank/HollisWealth and the Dynamic Funds accounts. They mostly work with print jobs so I must say, if I learned one thing from my experience at this agency is that even 1 second counts. Deadlines are important and time management is key.

After finishing up my time at BT/A, I decided to go away and travel for a few months. I grew up being curious of what is out there in the world and have always been eager to visit new places and experience new cultures. If not now, when? So I decided it was the right time to go away and I don't regret one bit. Traveling is definitely one of the best ways to spend your time and money.

After my return, I have been working as a Brand Ambassador and Event Coordinator for different experiential companies. I have worked with a wide variety of clients - Rogers Communications, Scotiabank, IKEA, Chrysler, Kia, PayPal, Mattel and Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment, among others.

I am now looking for a full-time position in the Account Services department, and I believe my skills and experience would make me a great candidate.
