Paloma Vásquez

Communications geek, Sustainability specialist, and Change Agent in Lima, Peru

Hola :)

My name is Paloma and I work remotely, so I am on the move frequently.

WHAT I DO
I am currently working in international development, leading the communications team dedicated to supporting USAID's Amazon Regional Environment Program across Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru and Suriname.

WHAT I'VE DONE
Prior to my current job, I helped companies create impact-driven solutions and further sustainability as a design researcher at a company-builder lab.

Before that, I contributed to mitigate the effects of climate change in the Amazon rainforest as Head of Communications and Learning for a USAID-funded project in Peru, creating tools and platforms to influence on policymaking to promote sustainable forest practices and increase vulnerable populations’ participation in economic value chains.

An interesting part of my professional journey is that I pivoted into the movie industry some years ago, where I learned about systems thinking and user-centered design while driving cultural change for a digital transformation as Head of Innovation (all whilst enjoying complimentary popcorn!)

THIS IS HOW I GIVE BACK
I am a Board Member at a Canadian-Peruvian NGO that works to improve Andean communities' livelihoods in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

WHAT I WOULD BRING TO YOUR ORGANIZATION
⚙️ a T-shaped skillset
⚙️ purpose-driven results
⚙️ user-centric problem solving
⚙️ a fluid mindset

LASTLY, THIS IS WHAT I LIKE
I enjoy bird-watching, I'm an avid reader and in my free time I am usually cooking, boxing or listening to podcasts.
