Pamela Berkson is an Adult Nurse Practitioner and Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of California Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California. Berkson is a sought after lecturer on many topics, specializing in the care of the geriatric patients.
Throughout her career, Berkson has held many prestigious roles that have provided her with a rich clinical background in both research and patient care. She was the Project Coordinator for the Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial, at the UCI Chao Clinical Cancer Center, a large multi-site study on the use of Proscar for the prevention of prostate cancer. She also participated as a clinician/investigator for the study entitled “Challenges to giving care and community-dwelling people with Dementia,” within the Geriatrics program at the UCI Medical Center.
Currently, Berkson is a consultant and lecturer at the Alzheimer’s Association of Orange County and the Council on Aging in Orange County as well as the owner of PSB Consulting, a private case management business in southern California. Her empathetic and respectful approach to her patients, and their families, is revealed during her interactive lectures and consultations. With great insight and a sense of humor, Berkson shares her patients’ stories to help her educate and highlight important issues.
Berkson received an AB in Psychology Washington University in St. Louis, a BS in Nursing from Boston University, and her MSN from California State University in Long Beach. She is a Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner as well as a Certified Case Manager.
