Pamela Cowell

Pamela Cowell, M.D., a Puyallup, Washington-based obstetrician and gynecologist, provides a complete range of services related to female reproductive health. In this role, she counsels women on various types of birth control, both temporary and permanent. Dr. Pamela D. Cowell is among a select group of physicians with certification to perform female sterilization procedures using the Essure® method. In order to obtain Essure® certification, Dr. Cowell had to participate in a specialty training program administered by Conceptus®, Inc., the manufacturer of the Essure® device. She successfully completed this training in 2007, giving her the ability to perform Essure® procedures. Pamela Cowell, M.D., received recognition as a Medicaid-authorized provider of Essure® from the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services in 2011, allowing her to offer the device in her office to patients on Medicaid insurance in addition to privately insured and cash-paying patients. Women who choose to start a family can consult Pamela Cowell, M.D., for pre-pregnancy counseling as well. After the patient becomes pregnant, she can continue receiving early prenatal care from Dr. Cowell, who brings a great deal of experience to the process, having delivered thousands of babies during her career. Along with contraception options, Pamela Cowell, M.D., offers gynecological services to women of any age. Patients may consult her for regular well woman health checks, disorders of menstruation, cancer screening, and management of symptoms and conditions associated with menopause, including hot flashes, decreased sex drive, and difficulty sleeping. She ensures that her patients receive care for female health issues in a timely manner.
