Pamela Egan is a board-certified nurse practitioner, certified diabetes educator, American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) Diplomat, Skin Care Specialist and world-renowned health columnists whose work has helped define the role of nurse practitioners and shape the healthcare industry as a whole.

She is the founder and sole proprietor of the EGAN Wellness and Anti-Aging Clinc and the EGAN Skin Care Spa. Both the primary care clinic and med spa are located in the same building, at 1116 W. 21st Avenue in Covington, Louisiana. The supplement and skin care shop is located in the front of the building near the lobby.

Mrs. Egan was named Louisiana Nurse Practitioner of the Year just one year after founding her own clinic, and has appeared on the cover of Sophistocated Woman Magazine on numerous occasions. Egan also once was once interviewed by Woman's World Magazine as a nutrition expert for a story on the role of nutrition in disease prevention.

Years ahead of her peers and colleagues, Egan's health column, which appeared in a local bi-weekly print media publication before her decision to discontinue authoring "The Practical Practitioner", moving all of her previously written columns to her website, PamelaEgan.com, and continuing to publish occasionally on her own site and more recently on her blog.

NP Egan was also a co-founder of EGAN Healthcare Services (now EGAN Home Health and EGAN Hospice), a home health care company based out of Metairie, LA and servicing all of southeast Louisiana offering home health care, skilled nursing, physical and occupational therapy, diabetes care, hospice care and medical staffing services.

She left EGAN Healthcare to pursue her nurse practitioner certification and launch her own two companies, both of which are still going strong. While her ever-increasing workload has made it difficult for her to regularly publish new articles and blogs, she still finds time to write on occasion. Both her old and new articles can be found on the respective subcategory within the 'Health Articles' page of her site.

Egan earned herself a place in the annals of internet history when she authored and published the first article to appear on the web distinguishing between vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol).

Mrs. Egan is the mother of Peter Egan. She is also an occasional author and associate editor at VitaminD3Blog.net.
