Huntley Fall Fest- founded a new festival for our Village (nothing to do with Village of Huntley sponsorship or my Trustee position) 5 years ago. Developed a complete Board of Directors, started with a $50. treasury of my own money, and ended the first year with more than a $45,000. budget. HFF hosts 7 different festivals all in one weekend, at one location. It works together with members of the Huntley Chamber of Commerce, the Huntley Park District, the Huntley Jaycees and about 25 other groups and organizations that all cooperate to make money for the groups and to give our residents high quality entertainment for all ages. www.huntleyfallfest.com

Community Organizer, 12 years ago, when I first moved to Huntley, I started to go to weekly Village Of Huntley meetings, to see what new growth was coming to town. Huntley went from 2500 people 14 years ago, to 25,000 now. There was a lot of open and lively conversation, from a board known for it's "characters". I was in "first phase" of our new subdivision, and while my kids were out of High School and the Marine's by then, most of my neighbors had little kids at home, and could not keep up with local issues. I started putting out a one page newsletter myself, then had a few friends delivering them. by the time our subdivision of 600 homes was finished, I could not put out the newsletter myself. By then, local newspapers were finally reporting on what was going on in the area. We did host meetings for residents, explaining our Special Service Area Tax
