Pam Rorke Levy
Writer, Filmmaker, and Non-profit Leader in San Francisco, California
I am a writer, filmmaker, and long-time supporter of arts non-profits living in San Francisco, California. Four generations of my family have been involved in art, architecture and design, and I have proudly served on the boards of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, the San Francisco Art Institute, the Bay Area Video Coalition, ZSpace Studio. Many of my films explore the arts and culture, including SPARK, the multi-platform art series I created and produced at KQED-TV.
In my fifties, my husband and I restored one of the most famous of all ocean racing yachts, Dorade, and decided to repeat all of her early ocean races. We were sailing novices at the time, but have since racked up tens of thousands of miles at sea, and made it to the podium in every ocean race, including the 2015 Fastnet, the 2018 Bermuda Race, the 2015 Transatlantic Race, and the 2013 Transpacific Race, which my husband Matt Brooks won overall 77 years after Dorade won it the first time, a testament to the enduring excellence of Olin Stephens' revolutionary design.

Since then I've joined the boards of the National Sailing Hall of Fame and the St Francis Yacht Club Foundation, in an effort to extend access to this life-changing sport to a broader range of children and adults.

But this past year dwarfs all those adventures, as you'll see in this post:
