I am a PostDoctoral Fellow at the Department of Computer Science of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU-Berlin) working with Prof. Dr. Ulf Leser. My research focuses on management and mining of complex data types including spatial, temporal and textual data, and on optimization problems over graphs.

From 2011 to 2013, I was a PostDoctoral Fellow at the Department of Computing Science of the University of Hong Kong (HKU) working with Prof. Nikos Mamoulis.

I received my PhD in 2011 from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece under the supervision of Prof. Timos Sellis and Prof. Yannis Vassiliou. The title of my thesis was "Evaluating Queries over Route Collections".

I received my Diploma on Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2003 also from NTUA. I completed my diploma thesis, titled "Query Language for Hierarchical Structures" (in greek), under the supervision of Prof. Timos Sellis and Dr. Theodore Dalamagas.

I was also a graduate member of the Knowledge and Database Systems Lab in NTUA.
