Panagiotis Moschonas
Software Engineer and Research Associate in Thessaloniki, Greece
I work as a software engineer and research associate at the Information Technologies Institute of the Centre for Research and Technology (CERTH), in Thessaloniki, Greece, since January 2007. I have received the BSc and MSc degree in computer science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2005 and 2007 respectively.
One of my main interests is the simulation software engineering, varying from human body dynamics to building process simulations. In the last years, I have also explored the bioinformatics domain by developing novel algorithms for pattern discovery, association analysis and advanced visualization.
I have participated in five EU FP7 projects, having contributions in more than 25 scientific conference and journal papers. I have also worked as the lead programmer in several small projects, which include applications of biometrics authentication, 3d shape matching, computer vision, scene annotation, body tracking, gpu-programming, etc.
I love programming in C++ using several open-source libraries such as Qt, OpenSceneGraph, SimTK OpenSim, Open Dynamics Engine (ODE), Eigen, OpenCV.
