Αfter graduating with a BSc (Hon) Degree from Leicester Polytechnic/U.K. Panos Ioannidis studied and followed the craft and art of piano service, in England and in the U.S.A. where he received his Registered Piano Technician (RPT) certification under the Piano Technicians Guild (PTG.org)
Since 1980 he has been servicing pianos for the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki, concervatories and for numerous concerts and cd productions. He also established a workshop for piano repair and restorations which gradually developed in piano reconstruction and rebuilding, specializing in modern innovative piano design. He also builds barrel pianos, the traditional greek "laterna", with the pinned musical cylinder. Since 2000 upgrates on the new concept of the "handmade piano" which is mainly practiced in the USA and involves the redesigning and full reconstruction of an old piano.
