Paola I. Medina
Student in Puerto Rico
Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Paola I. Medina Cabrera and I am a student at the University of Puerto Rico in Humacao studying Microbiology. My interest on the fields of science has been present ever since middle school. I was always wondering how something so small, like a cell, could contain life and the purpose of it's own. My particular interest in Microbiology grew in 10th grade when I took my first class of Biology and the teacher started talking about cells and it's structure. When the class was getting interesting, I got the opportunity to make a laboratory of it. I was so interested in learning more about this particular unit of live, that I decided to pursue my career in the fields of Microbiology. Currently, I am in my first semester of bachelor's degree and little by little I have been gained skills such as laboratory techniques which include working with a microscope and making measurements. Other skills included using Excel for graph data, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word.
True the years in the university, I know that I will gain more skills and knowledge. With hard work, I will use this knowledge and skills to work in a industry and gain experience as well as I continue my studies and pursue my goal to become a microbiologist.
