In 1998, Paolo Antonacci inaugurated his gallery in via del Babuino 141/A in Rome. He had spent more than twenty years working at the prominent Rome and London galleries owned by his father Giuseppe, a well-known international antiquarian who came from a long line of Roman antique merchants.
Paolo's brand-new gallery set itself apart from the start for the knowledge and focus it placed on artwork from the late eighteenth century to the first half of the twentieth century, with a focus on Vedutismo.
Paolo Antonacci has developed close ties with numerous collectors, academics, and museum curators on a national and international scale throughout the years. Major Roman museums like the Museo di Roma, the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna, the Musei Vaticani, the Museo del Corso, the American Academy of Rome, the Sovrintendenza per il Polo Museale Fiorentino in Florence, as well as numerous other noteworthy organisations and private collections, have purchased important works of art from him.
