Pareto Law

Started in 1995, Pareto Law is a recruitment firm in the UK focused on building and training top-quality sales teams. The name is derived from an economic principle, with the theory being that 20% of a population is responsible for 80% of the results. This theory, when applied to sales, suggests that only a small number of salespeople produce the largest amount of revenue. So, Managing Directors Jonathan Fitchew and Andy Sawer set out to discover what differentiated the top 20% from the rest.

The answer is now embodied in the recruitment and training practices of Pareto Law. First, a dedicated account manager meets with a particular client company. Their needs are evaluated and their company culture is considered and defined. A profile is put together of an ideal candidate. Then, recruitment begins. Pareto Law operates assessment centers all around the UK, open every day for assessments, meaning it is easy to put together a package of potential candidates quickly and efficiently. For smaller needs such as only a few candidates, they can draw on a pool of applicants already available; for larger needs of a sales force of six or more, there can be dedicated assessment days at the centres to allow a streamlined recruitment process.

The selection is narrowed down to three possible recruits per open position, allowing companies to conduct their own evaluations without having to pre-screen unsuitable candidates from the start. After a selection is made, Pareto Law stands behind their recruits, offering comprehensive training to ensure they are ready for a successful career in sales.

Pareto Law’s training program is recognized by the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management, benchmarking it against the highest quality sales training programmes in the industry. This means that Pareto Law complies with ISMM’s quality assurance system, ensuring that the programme promotes professionalism and excellence within a sales force and delivering it in a professional and ethical manner. With these high standards in place, Pareto Law has proven its commitment to quality in the field of sales, and was recognized with a 2008 award at the National Sales Awards for being a top sales recruiting company in the UK.
