At the Volunteer Centre Sutton, Chris has the privilege of leading a vibrant, innovative and committed team, passionate about the community they serve. Volunteer Centre Sutton delivers a broad portfolio of services aimed at meeting the vision 'To inspire Community'.
After studying Education and Psychology at University, Chris was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to engage with International Emergency Relief work with The Salvation Army in East Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zimbabwe, responding to drought and famine disasters, child soldier recovery and economic crisis'. After 2 years in the field, it was time to come home and invest in his local community. Chris joined the Volunteer Centre Sutton in 2008 with their award winning mentoring project, MAPS, and after a period of leading the project, was approached in 2012 to take on his current role as Chief Executive Officer. During his time as CEO Chris has had the honour of receiving a Queens Award for Voluntary Service (QAVS) an organisational MBE.
