What's in an identity?
Traci has been formed by people who love God and believe in the coming of the kingdom of justice on earth. Her work and internships and mentors have been people who proclaim the good news to the poor of heart, the poor of relationships, the poor of means, the poor of education, and the poor of access. Traci hopes to be molded in the same way. Jesus came, and we should be different as a result. Traci believes that all people have dignity: created in the image of God, loved by him, and PURSUED by him with reckless abandon. She loves to be a part of spreading that message of value and hope to others.
Traci has worked as a program director for the Salvation Army, running and funding an after-school program with a local elementary, and a women's day program for the shelter. She also helped with the Salvation Army's other ministries, like their weekly Home League for elderly women, pantry ministries, prison toy outreach, community center, and Christmas intakes. She worked on a mental health crisis line, and has training as a Hospice volunteer. She's visited several different prison ministries, and collaborated on a book of oral history about the experiences of Mexican-Americans in Muskegon, MI. She has interned and preached at Heartside Ministries in Grand Rapids, and New Community 4th Reformed in Holland, both with an emphasis on reconciliation, community service, and outreach. Traci has been a part of many prayer ministries and loves to preach. Traci also has experience as a children's ministry director, and has volunteered with VBS and GEMS programs.
Traci currently volunteers as listener and prayer warrior for "The Other Twelve," a women's support ministry that brings hurting women the good news of their particular value to God! She also provides local pulpit supply as needed. She loves to write, and has just started a blog of spiritual encouragement for seekers and the brokenhearted... in other words, all of us. She's hoping to be involved in a church plant soon.
Traci is available for call and awaiting ordination in the Reformed Church of America.
