Paul Markland

Leaving school at 16 I went to sea with the Merchant Navy and commenced my career as a Navigator rising to the rank of Master in 1982. Leaving active duty to become shore manager in 1986 I worked for the Swire Group in Hongkong before brief stints as President of an Airline Seating company in America and Managing Director of a Shipping Company in Darlington. In the 1990's I became an engineering entrepreneur with the help of 3i before retiring in 2000. Since 1999 my wife and I have been actively involved in collecting and rallying classic cars and in particular classic and vintage Bentleys.
