Pasquale Rufolo
A practitioner and professor of tax law, Pasquale Rufolo draws on nearly 25 years of experience in his professional and academic work. In addition to leveraging his considerable knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, state and federal tax procedures, and business practices, Pasquale Rufolo also educates future and current attorneys about tax law and its business applications. Pasquale Rufolo studied to earn his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and he worked as an accountant and a corporate controller before attending law school. While in law school, he secured a highly competitive position with the Newark District Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service. After graduating cum laude from the Seton Hall University School of Law, Pasquale Rufolo gained admittance to the nation's most prestigious tax law program at the New York University School of Law, where he obtained his Master of Laws in Taxation. Currently the founding member of New Jersey-based Rufolo & Stein, LLC, Pasquale Rufolo previously worked as Partner and Of Counsel at several prominent New Jersey law firms, including Stern & Kilcullen, LLC, where he served as Director of the firm's Tax Practice Group. He remains informed of the latest developments in tax law and policy through his working relationships with the tax, real property, and probate sections of the American Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. Rufolo has been recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer for his knowledge and experience in the area of tax law. Academics and practitioners have sought Pasquale Rufolo's expertise in tax law. Since 2000, he has taught numerous courses at Seton Hall Law as an Adjunct Professor, including partnership taxation, business planning, and estate and gift taxation. Fairleigh Dickinson University also appointed him Adjunct Professor of its Graduate Tax Program, in which he instructed students in advanced corporate tax and partnership taxation. Collaborating with fellow legal practitioners, Pasquale Rufolo developed a program for practicing lawyers called Initiating In-House Investigations & Responding to Government Investigations: A Critical Guide for Everyone in Business Today.
