Pastor Dan Spencer

Saved in 1984 and baptized in 1985, Dan Spencer felt the call to ministry in 1986. He graduated from Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, MO with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. He also has a Master of Science in Counseling/Psychology from Troy University in Dothan, AL and a Masters of Arts in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA.

From 1992-2011, Dan served at churches in Missouri, Alabama and Georgia. He also served as a US-2 Missionary for the North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, a Preacher for the SBC Pastor's Conference, and as a member of the SBC Committee on Committee in 2005. From 2009-2011, Dan served as President of the Georgia Baptist Convention. He became Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Sevierville, Tennessee in December 2011.Dan has been a contributor to two books: One-Year Devotional Prayer Book (2009) and The Pathway to Discipleship (2011). Both were published by Thomas Nelson Publishers.

Dan met his wife, Tresa, on the first day of classes at Hannibal-LaGrange College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts. She loves gardening and has a Master Gardener Certification.Dan & Tresa have two grown sons: Jeremiah and Jacob.
