Answering the divine summons to spread the Gospel's message, Pastor Gary Petersen felt inspired to establish the Rock Urban Church. Its origins were humble, with its earliest congregations convening in a modest rented office space, echoing with earnest prayers and heartfelt hymns. From those initial gatherings, it has now burgeoned into a community of approximately 300 dedicated attendees, transforming a former tractor store into a beacon of hope and worship. In its decade of existence, the church has become a cornerstone of the community, touching countless lives through its worship services, community engagements, and various outreach programs.

But Pastor Gary Petersen's vision extended far beyond the confines of his local community. Possessing a deep-seated passion for international outreach, he embarked on a mission to Vietnam over two decades ago. This commitment sees him visiting the nation annually, immersing himself in its culture and people, and fortifying the spiritual connections he's fostered.

Pastor Gary Petersen is also passionate about infusing creativity into his ministry endeavors. Consequently, he has taken a hands-on approach, personally designing and embellishing the church facilities, a gesture that often garners praise and admiration.

Recently, Pastor Gary Petersen has shifted his primary focus towards guiding and inspiring the church community members. One of the advantages of shepherding a smaller congregation, consisting of approximately 300 individuals, is the opportunity to cultivate personal relationships with nearly every member.
