Herson is the 7th child of 8 children born to Rev. Jesus and Digna Gonzalez in Rochester, NY. For 20 years he enjoyed being a part of a music ministry with his siblings called "The Gonzalez Family".

In 2003, Herson and his wife Valerie (and 2 children Jazz & Melody) founded Calvary Worship Center, now called VIDA Church; a multicultural, bilingual, multigenerational church in Woonsocket, RI. VIDA Church belongs to the Pentecostal Episcopal Church; presiding prelate Archbishop A.L. Foxworth.

Believing he was called to expand the conversation between church and community, Herson founded the Woonsocket Day Of Prayer in 2013 in partnership with the Mayor of the city of Woonsocket, where many churches come together for one day of public prayer. Herson is proud to serve as Police Chaplain for the WPD.

In 2015, Herson was elevated to the office of Bishop in the Pentecostal Episcopal Church. Bishop Herson and Pastor Valerie are responsible for overseeing and planting/covering all Spanish language churches in the reformation.

Bishop Gonzalez also leads a regional men’s ministry called The Brotherhood with yearly conferences and meaningful ministry for the men of New England.

Bishop Gonzalez is a highly sought after preacher who has traveled throughout the U.S. preaching the gospel of Jesus.
