Pastors Discipleship Network
The church in Africa is largely led by pastors with little or no theological training According to World Christ Trends (2013), the number of untrained pastors in sub-Saharan Africa constitute an overwhelming 60%. Moreover many of these pastors also lack basic ministry skills and resources to help them in their work. Consequently, the church in Africa faces many devastating challenges such as: distortion of the gospel, gross lack of discipleship (“a mile wide and an inch deep”), abuse of ministry, unending church conflicts, frustration and burn-out of leaders, fragmentation of the church, and lack of accountability for pastors. The Pastors Discipleship Network was established to address these needs and strength the church.
