Pate Rehabilitation
Since the 1980s, Pate Rehabilitation has been helping patients with acquired brain injuries, brain injuries that are not hereditary and were received after birth, and their families. The company provides one-on-one treatment to the sufferers of brain injuries by slowly trying to help them live the normal life they had before their injury. And it offers both one-on-one counseling and support groups for their family members and loved ones who are having to deal with their own emotions and often vast adjustments to their own lives as well.
Pate Rehabilitation knows that every patient has different needs and will recover best in a setting that works well for them. That is why the company offers diverse programs that offer varying amounts of care. Everything from a patient's personality, hobbies, likes and dislikes, professor, and family life, as well as the severity of the injury are considered in order to determine what program will work best. Once a decision is made Pate Rehabilitation continues to evaluate the needs of the patient and changes strategies if necessary.
One of Pate Rehabilitation's programs is community-based therapy. This is for patients who will recover best in their own family environments and consists of staff members visiting patients in their home to help them learn essential skills they need to live every day. Another program is the Day Neuro Program, which allows patients to visit a clinic for six hours a day, five days a week, where they work on a program that is designed according to their situation. Pate Rehabilitation also has a Young Adult Program, specifically designed for patients between the ages of 12 and 19. These patients re-learn how to engage in activities that young adults usually do, such as attend high school football teams and take classes in school.
