Patience Goanue is a Communication specialist and seasoned Broadcaster with more than 11 years experience. She served as the PI/External Relations Assistant at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Monrovia. Prio to this appointment, she worked as a Radio Producer at the United Nations Missions in Liberia (UNMIL) Radio Station, where she conducted research on current affairs, general and family issues for the production of UNMIL Radio programs. She joined UNMIL Radio in 2004 and through her programming, was able to help Liberians make informed decision during the 2005 elections. She was responsible to interview President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf after the November 8 Run off election in 2005, was also responsible to interview the United States Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Madam Jendayi Frazer in 2006 after the inauguration of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.
In February 2008, she interviewed United States President George Bush on the White House pre-trip Radio Roundtable. Also on the same trip; she interviewed Dr. Thomas A. Kenyon, Principal Deputy Coordinator and Chief Medical Officer, office of the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator, Jonathan Bloom, Deputy Vice President, Department of compact implementation at the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
She had previously worked at Royal Communications Network as Television Producer, Liberia Communications Network as Television Producer, Don Bosco Homes as Communications Officer and radio Nimba as radio Producer.
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from CUNY York College and a Master of Arts in Public Relations from Full Sail University.
