Thomas L. Lederer is a German and European Patent Attorney in Munich.

He is specialized in patents for artificial intelligence and "software patents" for computer-implemented inventions.

Born in Rosenheim/Bavaria, he studied Physics, Mechanical Engineering and Informatics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and the Technische Universität Berlin, and is one of the very few (ca. 1%) German Patent Attorney with the German equivalent of a Master's level degree in Informatics (Diplom-Informatiker Univ.); his is from the LMU Munich.

Already during his studies he started to freelance for several companies and facilities, sometimes consulting, sometimes developing software.

In IP since 2007, he worked for several law firms, but has also experience as in-house counsel. He is also co-author of the KLEY compendium (http://www.mfh-verlag.de) and tutor of the European Patent Attorney preparation course of CEIPI (http://ceipi.edu).

Tom practices Aikido, likes Science-Fiction and Fantasy literature, is fluent in German and English, and has basic knowledge in Italian, Spanish, French and Japanese.
