Patrice Wade Johnson

I grew up in Brooklyn, NY and received my BA and M.Ed. from the University of Pittsburgh. I’m a founding member of the Sanctuary of Praise where I serve as Treasurer, in the Women's Ministry and on the Praise & Worship Team. I am blessed to be called mom by my children and a daughter-in-love, and in awe of God's goodnes when my grandchildren smile. I'm also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

I launched Words with Wings in 2004 to give voice to the stories of women who struggle with faith and purpose. My novels, stage plays and screenplays are realistic fiction dramas about choices, family, friendship and the importance of faith. As I embark on this perpendicular path, I realize that I’ve been approaching this intersection for twenty years. The journey started when I wrote and directed my first play in 1994. Sitting On Top of the World was followed by Cindy—an urban fairytale and In Your Mirror I See Me. My debut novel,Wisdom Seeds (2004) was followed by Lundyn Bridges (2007) and Just One Last Dance (2011). Another milestone was achieved when Lundyn Bridges came to life at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater (April 2010). My first screen play, The Take Us (book by Raymond Takacs) debuted at the Military Writer's Society event (October 2010). Set Free is the first of many films which will provide positive entertainment with relatable characters in thematic stories about people of faith.

Set Free screened at the Waterworks Cinemas to over 400 guests (2 sold out screens). The DVD and CD are available on our website- thesetfreemovie.com. The CD is also available in digital format on Itunes and Amazon MP3.

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven. Matthew 5:16
