National Women Build Week
National Women Build Week brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children across the globe. Last year 375 Central Florida women volunteered 2,500 hours and raised more than $100,000 to fully fund a home for a family in need.

The Mother's Day timeframe was selected for its significance to many volunteers, as families with children make up a staggering number of those in need of adequate housing. More than 12 million children—one in six—live in poverty housing in the United States alone. To date, Women Build crews have built more than 1,800 Habitat homes nationwide.

Thank you to all the teams, sponsors, committee members and those who made Women Build 2012 such a success. We raised over $130,000 to sponsor a home for a Central Florida family in need.

How can I participate in the 2013 National Women Build Week? Each participant must raise a minimum of $500 each in order to volunteer a shift during National Women Build Week, May 6-11, 2013.

Want to get involved with the work of Habitat in the Orlando community?

Join us at one of our monthly HabiTours! HabiTours give you a glimpse into the lives that we impact daily and are held the 3rd Tuesday of every month from noon - 1:00 p.m. (a light lunch is served).

During the HabiTour, you'll get a tour of our model home at Stag Horn Villas, our 58 town home community, and meet some of our staff, volunteers, and others interested in getting involved with our organization. You'll also meet someone that is currently in the process of becoming a Habitat Homeowner.

HabiTours are held monthly at our model home at 4650 Stag Horn Dr Orlando, FL 32808. This is near the intersection of Silver Star Rd and Le Havre Blvd.

All are welcome to attend!

If you are interested in purchasing a home through Habitat for Humanity, your first step is to attend our orientation, which is held multiple times a month. To register for our Homeowner Orientation, please visit www.habitat-orlando.org/how-to-apply or call our offices at (407) 648-4567 today.
