Patrice Cloutier works in the healthcare sector and is an independent crisis communications practitioner and trainer in Ontario. Formerly a civil servant, he played a lead role in the planning and delivery of emergency information at the provincial level and in crisis communications planning.

Patrice spent close to 10 years as a reporter and broadcaster with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation/Société Radio-Canada and as a freelance journalist for the BBC and Radio-Canada International.

He has led teams of public relations and organizational communications professionals in the private sector. He is widely recognized as a pioneer in the use of social media in providing information during crises and in emergency management.

Patrice is a member of various groups sharing crisis communications and emergency management expertise and best practices.

In 2012, Patrice created the Canadian Virtual Operations Support Team (CanVOST) which offers surge capability to municipalities and other organizations during emergencies.
