Patricia Orbegoso
Head of Internationalization in Lima, Peru
Hi, I’m Patricia Orbegoso, a dynamic, goal-oriented, and multilingual International Relations Manager with 14 years of progressive experience advancing international education and educational technology within universities. In 2022, I was appointed Head of Internationalization Office at Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC), where I provide system-wide leadership in strategic international planning and foster the development of key partnerships. My work primarily focuses on the development and implementation of transnational education programs, including 4+1, 4+2 models, along with their variations. In this role, I actively encourage students to pursue their Bachelor's degrees at UTEC, followed by a Master's degree at a prestigious international institution, streamlining the path to advanced qualifications. I also oversee the management of International Projects Funds, promote collaboration between local researchers and their global counterparts, including student engagement in field programs, research stays, international exchanges, and capacity-building initiatives.
In recognition of my commitment to enhancing cross-border academic cooperation, I was elected ambassador of the “Portugal Polytechnics International Network” (PPIN), a collaborative network aimed at increasing the international visibility of Portuguese Polytechnic Higher Education in Peru, fully supported by Erasmus+ funding.
Currently, I am the CEO of Global Connect Solutions a Peruvian EdTech startup focused on creating AI-powered solutions that connect institutions and people with global opportunities.
Daughter of northern parents with Spanish and Chilean roots, I born and raised in the city of Huaraz, well known as the “The Peruvian Switzerland”. I was immersed in nature from a very early age. I grew up surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, turquoise lagoons, blue skies, and the most stunning views of the Peruvian Andean Mountains. During my childhood, I was also exposed to multilingual and multicultural environments both at school and in the surrounding places where I lived. I have traveled extensively around Peru, America, Europe and in more than 30 countries on 5 continents. I enjoy travel, footing, reading, cooking, playing tennis and playing violin.
