Patricia Ford
I am Patricia Ford, I’m 23 years old. I was born in Camden, New Jersey. I am currently a City of Camden resident. I have five brothers, two of which are older than me, and five sisters. I’m someone they look up to. I have built a little family of my own with a beautiful young lady and a step-son who adores me; he looks up to me as well. As a child I didn’t really get to experience what it was like to be a child. I had to grow up early because my mom had an addiction. I remember bouncing from school to school as I grew up, and by the time I was 17, I had given up on school. I was barely there, I felt like I was wasting my time. In August 2012, I found an alternative program called Youth Build that gave me a second chance at life. Upon graduating with my G.E.D., I graduated with the highest writing score in the class. I received a Citizenship Award from Mayor Redd. I also completed certifications such as American Heart Association CPR AED, Central Service Technician, Telecommunications, Cook-One, and HBI (PACT) Facilities Maintenance. I got accepted into Camden County College in 2013. I’m currently a full time student & working to receive an Associate degree in Paramedics. I love to help people out. Saving lives is what I always wanted to do. If I complete my degree, I can help and save a few. My heart is full of joy. I barely say no to anyone. If I got it and you need it, I’m here to help you. As my journey of life continues I want to keep giving a helping hand to someone that may need it. You never know who considers you as a role model or who’s watching you. So, I try to live day by day leaving my bad times in the hands of the man above. By the time I’m 30, I want to have a business up and running for the certifications I, received throughout my years and working as a paramedic.
