I'm a 75 yr old first time filmmaker. I'm producing a short form documentary called "I am One of The Children of The Greatest Generation". I'm filming adults in their 60s and 70s who were children during WWII, of which I was one. I have an interesting history with WWII as a 5 yr old tap dancer with a Big Band, Kay Kyser entertaining the wounded troops at the VA in Brentwood, California. The film will be a TV quality 30 minute short form documentary recreating this era with filmed interviews, WWII content, and the Big Band music. We have original music composed by Bill Bently called The Greatest Children Theme. I'm at the last of my funding needing 10K for my director who is related to me, and then I will offer the film as special events to raise awareness and encourage involvement as a bridge between the older adults and the new military men and women and their families. I have had 4 special events last year and I've presented my preview clip to over 600 people during 2011 Veterans Day week. I believe this to be my purpose and passion. It is part of my life story. I need funding, support, ideas, thoughts, connections, etc. My dream is to take my film and presentations throughout California in 2012, and then on a national tour. I would need a corporate sponsor for such a big dream. I am a large dreamer! This could be a beautiful experience and a helpful experience for many, many people.
