Patrick Abbott
I am a multi-talented geographer capable of researching spatial relationships, cultures, religions, and landforms. My skill set includes GIS, GPS, imagery interpretation, and infrastructure network analysis.
I have had the honor of using my Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in geography in countries including Iraq and Afghanistan. In the United States I have worked on crisis support including wars and environmental disasters. I also volunteered doing imagery interpretation in support of Hurricane Sandy relief.
Previously I have worked as an intern at National Geographic, an instructor of Environmental Geography and World Regional Geography at Kansas State University, and computer technician and manager at South Dakota State University.
My free time includes establishing a volunteer geographic consultancy group called Geographic Outcomes, working on my geography blog Geographic Travels, and encouraging geographical outreach and new approaches for increasing geo-literacy.
