Patrick Griffin was raised in a large family in a rural Montana community where he learned the value of hard work and perseverance. Mr. Griffin graduated with honors from the #1 trial advocacy school in the nation. While in law school, Mr. Griffin excelled both in the classroom and in the courtroom, graduating Cum Laude. Being a member the nations #1 ranked Mock Trial Team allowed Mr. Griffin to learn from some of the nation's foremost experts on trial skills and techniques. These skills were put to the test in multiple mock trial competitions, including an ABA advocacy competition where Mr. Griffin was a regional champion and achieved the highest individual score at the national competition.
Mr. Griffin has extensive criminal defense experience, which started while in law school at one of the nation's top boutique criminal defense firms, Brown and Doherty, PA. At Brown and Doherty, Mr. Griffin authored six appeals to The United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, including an appeal from a capital murder trial where the Eleventh Circuit vacated the sentence of two consecutive life terms and remanded the case to the trial court for resentencing. Mr. Griffin is a member of Appellate Defenders Inc. and continues to handle criminal appeals at the Griffin Law Office. Appellate Defenders Inc. receives numerous applications from attorneys each year and limits its admissions to applicants who exhibit strong skills in writing and legal analysis, as well as significant experience in criminal appeals or other outstanding relevant qualifications.
Mr. Griffin also completed a federal judicial internship with the Honorable James D. Whittemore, who has presided over numerous high profile cases, including the Terri Schaivo case. This experience allowed Mr. Griffin an inside look as to how judges decide legal issues and what judges look for in legal writing and argument. This behind the scenes experience equipped Mr. Griffin with the tools and information on how best to persuade a judge.
