Patrick Montgomery

Patrick Montgomery is a writer originally from Surrey, but now based in Cardiff, South Wales. Having been writing from a very young age, and with a degree which included a number of creative writing courses, Patrick (under the pen name PJ Montgomery) is now beginning to make a name for himself as a writer.

He is credited as a co-writer on the independent Welsh comic, Stiffs, as well as a regular writer for the internet based radio sitcom Supermarket Matters, for which Patrick has written or co-written four episodes, with a further two episodes to be released. He also appears in Supermarket Matters in the role of Mad Jasper, but don't hold that against him. As well as these, Patrick writes a regular column for the website www.sidekickcast.com, discussing comics, films and television.

His writing work has led Patrick to being asked to run and take part in workshops for children held at local Cardiff libraries to help teach them how to write and draw their own comics. The success of these workshops has convinced Patrick to start working on a graphic novel aimed at children for release next year.

Patrick has also planned and run charity events, featuring live music and comedy, which have raised money for charities such as the British Heart Foundation, Marie Curie and Comic Relief, and is a former radio DJ, having presented the Retro Show on GTFM from 2001 up to 2007.

Patrick currently works in the insurance industry, where he has worked for the last eight years, primarily in a customer services role, speaking to the general public on the phone. He is now looking to move away from this type of phone based work, with the goal of becoming a full time writer.

Patrick lives outside Central Cardiff with his cat, Caliban, and is currently trying to learn to cook.
