I really believe in Hank Stamper's motto "Never Give An Inch" from Ken Kesey's "Sometimes a Great Notion". It really ties in with the maxims I was raised with by my Mother, Father, and Step-Father. The first was "Less than Your Best Is Unmitigated Failure" The second was "Adapt, Improvise, and Overcome". My mothere's favorite thing to say to me when I was down in the dumps was, "Pat, you're a thoroughbred and you never have to run second to anyone.".
