Patrick Mcquillan Aul was born and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In high school at the Fayetteville Academy, Patrick Mcquillan Aul was a state champion tennis player and a member of the basketball and cross country teams. Patrick Aul graduated from high school in 2002. After high school, Patrick Mcquillan Aul went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Patrick Aul was also on the club crew team for a year, medaling in five races. He majored in history and political science and graduated from there in 2006 with distinction. Patrick Mcquillan Aul then attended law school at the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he made Dean’s List every semester. Patrick Aul was also a published staff member and Editor-in-Chief of the North Carolina Banking Institute Journal. Patrick Mcquillan Aul married his wife, Linsy, in 2008, and graduated from law school in 2009 with honors. After law school, Patrick Mcquillan Aul worked as an associate at the law firm of Young Moore and Henderson in Raleigh, North Carolina from 2009 to July 2015. In July 2015, he and his family moved from Raleigh to the Charlotte, North Carolina area, and he accepted a job at the law firm of Cozen O’Connor. Patrick Aul’s area of focus at both Young Moore and Henderson and Cozen O’Connor was civil litigation, with an emphasis on insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, and insurance defense. He made partner at Cozen O’Connor in 2018. In November of 2019, he accepted the position of VP, Associate General Counsel at SCOR Global Life Americas, a reinsurance company. This is where Patrick Mcquillan Aul currently works. Linsy and Patrick Aul have a daughter, Ellery, and a son, Henry. When not working, Patrick Aul enjoys spending time with his children and being active outdoors, particularly at the beach. Patrick Mcquillan Aul is also a lifelong Tar Heels sports fan.
