An experienced company director with a background in the military, security industry and the provision of Lone Working services. Experience at all levels of company activities; directing, managing, operations, sales, marketing.
Following 22 years in the Army, (Lieutenant Colonel - Royal Tank Regiment), recruited into the security industry. Worked for The Watch (Midlands based), Sigma, (London based) and The Corps (UK and International). Left as Sales and Marketing Director taking turnover from 12.5M to 55M over 9 years. Started security companies in Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, an Alarm Receiving Centre in Scotland and almost a security company in Bulgaria.
10 years as Chairman of British Standards Institute committee developing standards for the security industry.
Became a security consultant while co-founding Skyguard Ltd, specialising in GPS/GSM device services for the protection of lone workers and vulnerable people.
Left Skyguard in 2010 to set up the Lone Working Group Ltd - a consultancy specialising in the Lone Worker market, working with a number of associates.
Wrote the British Standard for Lone Workers, (BS8484), at ACPO request. Chairman of the BSIA Lone Worker Group. Currently developing BS8484 as a European standard.
in 2010 received BSIA Chairman's Award for raising standards in the security industry.
