Career:

After completing my MA Economics at Edinburgh University I taught Economics at a boarding school in Surrey (Epsom College), achieved the highest results in the school history. I then went to on to create two Ed-Tech (education technology) startups. The first was an online exam technique course and the second was an online educational marketplace. I have also tutored throughout my career.

Educational focus:

Learning needs to be fun and my students would describe me as original, different and sometimes quirky. While working in education I have created learning models, frameworks and approaches. I have written tutor training manuals, exam technique courses as well as course aimed at helping students with learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia). At Epsom I developed a number of different frameworks and approaches for non-academic students, who were often under-motivated and had learning difficulties. My focus is on transitional learning, e.g. how you get a dyslexic student from being a poor writer to a student who creates essays of a consistently high standard. In 2012 I created a training system called Talk2Write which was used by 40 learning facilitators working students in schools.

Stuff I can teach:

Economics, Business Studies, Management, essay writing, exam technique, educational planning, ADHD and dyslexia coaching. Levels (A-level, IB and University)
