Patrick Mara
Patrick Mara is a business development and political consultant. He serves as Chairman of the District of Columbia Republican Party and is one of Washington, DC’s three voting members of the Republican National Committee. He previously served as Executive Director of the DC GOP and has worked as a political consultant for numerous candidates and causes. Earlier in his career, Patrick was elected to the DC State Board of Education, where he served a four-year term representing Ward 1.
Patrick has also worked on Capitol Hill for the late Senator John H. Chafee, at the U.S. Department of Energy as a contractor, and later as a lobbyist before both the legislative and executive branches of the federal government.
He has served on the boards of numerous local nonprofits, including more than seven years on the Board of Governors of Washington Latin Public Charter School. Patrick earned an entrepreneurship-focused MBA from Babson College and graduated from Marist University. He is a past president of the Marist Alumni Executive Board and a former alumni representative to the Marist Board of Trustees. An Eagle Scout, he has served for nearly eight years as a Cub Scout den leader for both of his sons’ dens.
Patrick and his wife live in Washington, DC, with their two children.
