Established UK design/communications business in 1994 as a sole proprietorship. Developed the company to an annual turnover of $4+ million (by year ten) through repeat business, client referral and long-term relationship building. Remained totally 'hands-on' with all design and production elements of creative output. Launched the careers of four successful designers and established/nurtured a team of 16+ design and communications professionals. Identified a niche and set up a separate printing business to increase efficiency/improve quality and streamline the entire design/print supply chain. Achieved ISO:9001 and ISO:14001 accreditations for the development and implementation of quality business, production, management and environmental systems. Sold both businesses prior to moving to Canada (Why?...I married a Canadian and we decided to bring our daughter up in Canada). Now based in Toronto and delivering graphic design, art direction and production services – currently on a contract/freelance basis – to clients in both Canada and the UK (Most recently for Family Communications Publishing and Sears in Toronto).
