Patrick Nercessian

Hi, I’m Patrick. I’m a student living in Athens, Georgia. I'm currently majoring in Computer Science at the University of Georgia. Although I've coded in the past in Java and Swift, I feel that a class setting will be much more effective and comprehensive.

I plan to learn programming to the best of my ability and to use that knowledge to create a smartphone app. I come up with ideas for applications all the time but haven't learned enough about coding to actually create them. I just love the idea that I could take any idea (that's possible for a computer to do) and make it a reality.

However, in the long run, I'm not too sure what type of programming job I would want. Video game design, artificial intelligence, and web/app development are all extremely interesting to me. It actually almost saddens me to think that I will eventually have to pick one and only one of those options as my career.

On top of my passion for programming, I believe that Computer Science is an incredibly practical major. Programmers are incredibly valuable in this day and age. As technology-related industries grow and new ones arise, programmers will become increasingly sought after.
